Casino Night!

Nathan came to pick me up at work..to drive over to Snoqualmie Casino to have a press tour of the place.
We walked in a fabulous lounge with views of the mountains it was a very clear day and sunny..peaceful and relaxing. Upon our entry I notice the trays of food and wine bottles…and soon after my first hellos to the already common faces who greet us..I order my first Chardonnay..and some tasty food to go along with that.
We had the tour as it was planed and we took some fabulous pics of us while outside the terrace lounge..as we wrap later that evening to our good byes..Nathan approached to ask me if I would like to try to have a Cigar experience in the cigar room before leaving home..quite curious about I agreed to his endeavor. Scooted by a cigar somelieur..who advised us to make our choice.. and of course not knowing anything about the subject I proceded to led the gentleman suggestions be my guide on my choice and deciding on a vanilla tip that left a sugary taste on my lips..on every puff!
The evening was fill with giggles and laughter…we seamed to have found some pleasure by holding in our hands a cigar to entertain our thoughts and spirit..exchanging some trivial conversation with a gentleman that was seated across from us at the table..!
The picture bellow is a representation of that night indulgence of a mild ecstasy…that lead me next morning waking up with one of the biggest hangover I have felt in a long time:)

With their stripped down lines, vibrant use of color and texture, addition of hats and scarves for visual interest Chanel’s designs were a popular addition to the world of 1920s fashion.Madge Garland, an outspoken fashion critic in the 1920s, wrote, “The whole position of women in Western civilization, is her struggle for equality and her success, is reflected in the garments she has worn.”Garland is probably minimizing the important role of women in the history books, but the fact remains, fashion plays a large role in determining whom the history books write about. The Reinvention of Women’s SuitsIf there is a single design Chanel is famous for it is her signature suit. Featuring straight lines, a boxy collarless jacket, paired with a matching skirt.Chanel’s designs were simple and understated for a reason. Not only did the minimalized style speak for itself with it’s vibrant colors and exotic fabrics, but the designs lent themselves to accessorizing.Chanel AccessoriesChanel designed accessories that complemented her clothes. These bracelets, necklaces, watches, earrings, and rings would become a trademark of the Coco Chanel Design house. With her “illusion jewelry” in the 1920s Chanel set herself apart from the other designers.

Chanel jewelry complemented her clothes. Sometimes the jewelry would just be a simple strand of pearls, at other times she would design a gaudy, “costume” look contrasting the simple lines of her suits. Chanel also designed brooches, lapel pins, shoes and hats to wear in addition to her clothes. Many of these designs were inspire by the Cubist and African art that was popular in 1920s France.SportswearChanel also designed many types of sportswear in the 1920s.She spent some time in the French Riviera, afterward she designed clothes meant to be worn in times of leisure, such as on vacation, or when getting some sun.During this period, Coco Chanel designs pants made for lounging on the beach, she called them “beach pajamas,” which would later be called “bell-bottoms.”Chanel designed leisurewear specifically for an active lifestyle of playing tennis and golf. Another keystone of the 1920s look, the cloche hat was popularized during this time. Many of drawings and sketches of Coco Chanel designs featured women wearing a beautiful cloche hat.HandbagsAnother result of stripped down 1920s fashion was the prominence of handbags which appeared more and more as the pockets on women’s dresses disappeared.Plus women were carrying more stuff: lipstick, powder, cigarettes, flasks of whisky, etc. Chanel had knockoff purses being sold in the magazines and catalogs for 15 or 16 dollars.Coco Chanel designs took center stage in the 1920s. Wanderlust Steampunk party!

It is the year is 1897 and a young messenger boy has just delivered a hand-engraved invitation from the Baron’s Estate to the most extravagant party of the year. The Baron, a handsome and dashing man, is known for both his business acumen and love of a fabulous party.

Men, don your finest chapeau and eveningwear, pack your carpet bags and get ready for a luxurious evening of intrigue and adventure. Ladies button up your boots, layer on your lace and grab your parasols as it’s going to be a lovely time to rub elbows with all the best society has to offer. Your outfits might reflect a nod, perhaps, to the whimsical, inventive and adventurous spirit of the age of steam (Steampunk).

As you enter the 10,000 sq ft. mansion (previously owned by Gary Paton!), the evening colors will create a stunning view across Bellevue and Lake Washington with the Seattle skyline in the distance. You will be greeted at the door with a signature cocktail and beautiful stringed music will fill the foyer. As you start to sip you will be given an introduction to the evening. Expect to dine on sumptuous cuisine designed to stimulate your taste buds and the high-class spirits will be flowing generously on the house. You may want to belly up to the High Rollers table in the gaming room. The stage entertainment is drawn from far and wide and will include some enticing and scantily dressed ladies of the evening (who may be performing on the stripper pole) along with music that will set your cane a’ tapping.

Date: Saturday, April 24th
Time: 7pm – 2am

Fear the limitation to becoming!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.  It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?  Actually, who are you not to be?  You are a child of God.  Your playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.  We are all meant to shine, as children do.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.  And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.  ~Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles,” 1992

(commonly misattributed to Nelson Mandela, 1994 inauguration speech)

Weekend get away!

Saturday March 2oth we attended a party at the Columbia tower. The host of such event was a friend of mine whom I haven’t seen for awhile and I was very excited to mingle with some of my old friends, while sipping some good Chardonnay. The room was pack and as soon as I walked on the door I recognized few old friends who greeted me with and awwwwwwwww you look fantastic, so nice to see you after so long…and the typical questions about how is my life like this days…of course some new that I have a relationship that has keep me busy and some how away from the spot light as a single Bachelorette.

After the party we went home, so we could catch up some good sleep, because we were leaving the next day to a German town call Leavenworth situated North East of Everett where we live, and about 1h 30 min drive….!

The drive was peaceful and sunny, the mountains still had some snow left from the winter…and the scenery was very relaxing…with the anticipation to arrive to our Resort and to experience a day in that small town.

The Hotel we stayed was like having your own private wood cabin, the rom was decorated with a log bed, hardwood floors, and a small satee with a table, the place was cozy and inviting, and you could feel in the air the crisp mountain clean air.

We spend ed the day walking around visiting the small local shops, with very unique souvenirs and hand made jams, sauces, and other artisan arts, and in one of those shops they had laying up testing jars of sauces, and one in particular said *Hot* at your own risk…ha,ha, we both laughed and decided to give it a try to see how Hot could a sauce be? well at first you just dint notice much that a faint spice taste and with in seconds you get this burning that takes your mouth in fire…my eyes water and all i wanted at this point was to drink water…Nathan was feeling the urge to control such burning by eating sugar from the near by coffee shop and handed me some of those little sugar envelopes, and creamer…to finally subsided and we were able to continue our local tourist walk before diner time! In one of the shops there Nathan tryed few leather hats and decided to purchase a brown one  for his collection!

Diner was spectacular, I loved the way it was set up and the variety of food that you could choose and of course Nathan and I decided on the rack of Lam, and an apple tart for desert…the room was filled with a wood fireplace to set the mood.

After diner we decided to try the hot pool…so we change to our swimsuits and walked to the pool with our robes and towels  and a bottle of white wine to enjoy the evening…! To later stop by the resort pub to have a drink of sprite to cool down over a conversation, before we knew it was time to head back one more time to the Hot pool before calling it of for the night.

The next morning we woke up gather our clothes and bags, and got ready to start our drive back home with a succulent breakfast to end the stay…:) A weekend get away !

Accepting the known or unknow that is the question?

Accepting the known or unknow that is the question???

Some times I find my self asking the very same question …accepting the known verses the unknown…?
I had a deep conversation about something that left me thinking about ..this..issue…recalling moments in my past where knowing made things more difficult brings more pressure on you and can take your sleep away, and yet not knowing something, can leave you with unanswered questions…and at the same time is easy to leave with as is nothing concrete, and surprises can add some mystery to your ego mind seeking adventure for a way to scape reality ??
The say *what you don’t know wont kill you…? Or this other one *no news are good news?
Hummm to be true or not..I think it depends on how much importance or value we place in our life circumstances or choices and decisions that will take its course in the best of our knowledge and yet is so vague in many ways that what we think we do know, that we don’t…and we take that as the absolute choice to follow a direction or path based in such a reduced amount of knowledge ..?
Humans..complex by nature and curios minds that are never satisfied with place time or moment..ever seeking ways to make little thoughts a more difficult challenge of ideas, to overwhelm our senses with confusion and analytical senses to start all over again..
One book I remember reading that influenced my way of thinking in some way is to realized that becoming and adult leaves you with no much more than facts and numbers…we think we are so smart than we forget to smell the roses, to understand the curse of nature, and to play more just enjoying the moment no questions ask…to be mesmerized by the inner curiosity that only the heart knows no boundaries and to be happy and to accept that we are one creation, one soul, a heart that only desires to love back as much as love fuels the never ending search to eternity!
I refused to believe that LOVE comes with manuals,or regulations to follow..and even when I don’t have the answers…I understand that while in the path for truth lies upon loosing my self that I accept the unknown….!!

My first 80s Prom!

Feb-26-2010

I never thought that I would have experience a Prom date…and my very first one as a growing up like if I was back in my H.S years going out for a fun night of dancing, with friends, and be the queen princess with the boy that you had a crush on…:)

I did not experienced such bliss because I did not grew up in the States and in Europe we didn’t have such H.S. dances, although I always thought that I wish I had enjoyed such experience, dancing with friends and going on a limo, and dress up. The funny thing is that I got to experience such a fun night, and probably even more because instead been 16 years old with your boy crush I was dancing with the man I love feeling like a true princess for a night, and been able to share such moments with my closest friends experiencing one of the most romantic night, besides the wedding day….and no wonder why girls dream to have such a blissful and magical evening when they think Prom ,Homecoming, or getting Married, because  I do know now is one of those celebrations  I will never forget, and It will be one of my most memorable events I had the opportunity to experience, and yes…who said that you cant have a magical Prom date as a grown up? I totally loved it and looking at my pics it shows and reflects that fabulous night that I will always remember with a smile in my heart.*Enjoy!

Letter to My Beloved

I am seating at my home desk remembering how wonderful it feels to be near the one I love, to feel his breath and touch as if was the very first time, and embracing those little moments as the last.

I sometimes feel as if my heart vessel is about to burst in so much love to give, never ending ways to feel and to give my very inner self to reach those limits of ecstasy and desire that only the human love can possibly be felt.

I see my self as and extension of you, and yet when you depart from me, is an emptiness that reminds me that you are the very essence of my desire, and my longing to have you even more.

Have you ever watched a love story or a romantic novel where you get immerse in the theme and wonder if reality could even compared to that idealistic of perhaps fantasies portrayed in such media?

I have to say that in my growing up days I have experience love in many different ways and of course every day life circumstances teaches you to adapt or change the decisions that alters your path as it develops before your eyes and with that a new perspective in a new excitement that wraps you in all your senses.

I am everyday experiencing my love with you in every dimension as I learn to know a bit more of you…grasping the closeness and breath with you as one is the most uplifting joy I get to experience each and every day…and I find my self in such beauty to be by your side, melting my self in your eyes and loving you even more.

I never thought that I could find such beauty in you, my joy to smile and a happiness that cant be explain in plain words, but yet the only way I know to be define so you can feel with me the same love I am for you.

May your day be filled with such desire to smile and to find a reason to believe in the greatest gift given to us by chosen this path together for a better you and for me my best because we both love life more just by allowing each of us to become the heart felt joy to be apart of our own journeys together as individuals that we become full and rich in the inner essence of us by just LOVE.

Always yours ~M~
